On Bali Time

Join Rose & Ness on their recent work trip to paradise!

A delightful mix of work and play, between exciting shoots and a jam-packed few days, we thought we’d revisit all of their favourite travel style moments, hidden gems to shop up a storm, epic places to wine and dine, awe-inspiring places to stay and where to indulge in a little rest and rejuvenation. If you’re planning your next vacay to Bali or simply needing a little virtual holiday - consider this your ultimate guide!

Following a hot landing into Bali from a 7AM departure from Brisbane, we checked into our first hotel and were eager to soak up a little poolside lazing! Eager to head out for our first night in Bali, the first cab off the rank of a thoroughly researched and scheduled bar and restaurant reservation list was Luma, nestled in the hustle and bustle of Canggu. We were absolutely spoiled for choice with their divine menu of simple, rustic dishes combining classic elements of Southern Europe’s traditions with indigenous ingredients from Bali. We would highly recommend popping this on your list to visit!

Being child and husband free on this trip, we were excited to venture out and explore the local shopping hubs and we were not disappointed. We were absolutely obsessed with everything in Kim Soo Home, the colour explosion of Bali Resin and beautiful boutiques Bali Cabin and Lokoa. Keen for a little R&R, we went for a beautiful massage at Gold Dust Spa and finally got to reunite with our beautiful Marketing Manager Karys! A comforting ginger tea upon arrival as the tropical rain poured down outside was just what we needed. Dinner at Yuki in Canggu was an absolute treat to top off a great day.

If there is one thing we can suggest you do when in Bali, it’s visit Spring Spa. Desperate for some TLC following a few too many cocktails the night before, we booked in for an afternoon of relaxation at the Canggu location, and what an absolute pleasure it was! Our feet were washed upon arrival, skin analysed and a tailored facial was had. We left feeling completely nurtured and pampered which was just what we needed. We headed to Skool for sunset drinks and dinner which was an absolute vibe and finished a fun night at La Brisa before the madness of a very exciting shoot the next day. Risky, but oh so worth it!

For our last two days we checked into our idea of absolute paradise - El Barrio. This place was an absolute visual delight full of the most incredibly eclectic treasures and styling. It felt like we had teleported to the lively streets of Brazil and we did not want to leave the poolside of this incredible spot. It was a dream! For our final night in Bali we were eager to dress up and let our hair down. We toasted an epic trip over a beautiful natural Bali pet nat at Electric Eel and watched the sun go down over Echo Beach, before heading to La Baracca for delish pizza and pasta. The perfect end to a very busy but productive trip!
