Splendour Season

July is usually our favourite time of year, when the iconic Aussie music festival, Splendour in the Grass, brings its magical musical world alive. The festival has become a rite of passage for the music lover and place to get creative and bold with your festival fashion. We just love being inspired by the style Queens in the crowds! Although the festival won't be going ahead in the flesh this weekend, a virtual festival will be happening online. From starting the day with a champagne breakfast, matching outfits with your besties, dancing under the stars at the Tipi Forest and so much more. We are reminiscing and taking you back to some of our staff's favourite moments from Splendour in the Grass!

Rose - Co-Founder

Getting caught red handed drinking a very famous band's rider backstage, getting low at the silent disco with 100 strangers waiting for the Sandstorm beat to drop, singing at the karaoke bar, dancing on a weird open stage, hanging in the old hunting lodge which we were obsessed with!

Ness - Co-Founder

Some of the ultimate times have been pre-drinks, dancing to the best tunes and festival DMs, all while cruising around arm-in-arm with my best friends. One major highlight was when we found out Channel V had organised a surprise Father John Misty performance in the campground. He was just acoustic and there was like 40 people all up there! So amazing! He's so sexy too! Something about his way!

Libby - Operations Manager

Seeing Flight Facilities, Boy & Bear and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard play. Everyone losing it to 'When a fire starts to burn' by Disclosure! And working at the event.

Kat - Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

Being front row for Outcast, dancing barefoot with sparklers at First Aid Kit, an explosion of balloons and confetti during The Flaming Lips, spending way too much time in the Tipi Forest, always co-ordinating outfits with the girls and working as a photographer and capturing festival outfits.

Jess C - Store Manager

I loved when Lorde sung Powderfinger, watching The Babe Rainbow with my bestie, partying in a haunted house and meeting everyone at the NLB meetup!

It's always tradition to see Tame Impala and Pond when at Splendour. I saw Pond play at Belongil Fields one time during a thunder storm and lets just say it was a trip and a half. My first Splendour was at Woodford and it was the biggest fluke of a road trip - we camped on a property opposite the festival for $12 and moshed to The Vines and The Hives and chilled to Devandra Banhart. Other standout acts were Jack White, Florence and the Machine and Bloc Party to satisfy teenage me.

Tame Impala's show was insane with crystal clear sound and amazing lights. He captured film of the audience and transformed everyone into a psychedelic pattern. Cosmos Midnight and Maribou State were also wicked. I guess what I love most is turning around and seeing the entire crowd singing and dancing and cheering, all dressed up and having the times of their lives.

Until next time, we will be dreaming of the day we can get amongst the festival spirit, dancing all the way with our Bazaar Babes!
